July Favorites

It's the end of July and that means it's time for some favorites. This is something I really missed doing and have looked forward to doing again. Before I picked out my faves I thought I would have quite a few things. Turns out... I don't. But these are truely thing that I have been loving and can not get enough of.

Let's get started!!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette
First of all that chocolate scent gets me every time. Yum!
The pigmentation of the shadows are great and the shadows are so soft
Maybelline The Nudes palette
Not super impressive pigmentation but I still really love this palette.
It's great for when I just want a simple look.
Maybelline Leather Color Tattoo - Barely Beige
I've heard people say these seem dry but mine is actually pretty creamy.
I love this color so much and again great for days I just want a simple/quick look.

 Sigma F80
My first Sigma purchase.
My fiance and I went to Minnesota about a month ago and went to the Mall of America.
I had to go to the Sigma store and I knew I wasn't leaving without this brush.
I've heard so many great things about it on YouTube and just had to try it for myself/
This is the best thing I've ever used to apply foundation.... it's perfect!!

 Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
This stuff is a mom life saver!
While my daughter usually sleeps through the night..
I tend to stay up later than I should... like right now as I type this.

Josie Maran Argan Cleansing Oil
When I first tried this I wasn't a fan, but after trying it several more times I fell in love!

Not Your Mothers Whip It Up Mousse
Let me tell you the main reason I bought this...
IT SMELLS LIKE CUPCAKES!
I read that and had to try it and it really does!!
It's delicious.

Revlon Lip Butter - Pink Lemonade
I was pretty bummed when I first tried this and saw it's extremely sheer.
But then I grew to love that. It's perfect for throwing in your bag and applying when you need
something moisturizing with a sheer tint.

Sunflower Citrus & Apricot Mango Anti-Bac
These smell amazing!
I love them both but I think I love Sunflower Citrus a tad more.

Makeup Collection

In my post yesterday I mentioned having a new vanity setup and  how I've been so excited to share it. Well here it is! I love this setup so much more than my old one. It just feels and looks more grown up to me. Everything finally has it's own place and I finally have less clutter all over the place! You may notice some baby items, and that's because my setup is to be in my daughters room for now. I don't think she minds sharing though. Anyway let's get to the makeup!!

Yes, I did what all the other girls are doing and I purchased the Alex 9 Drawer from Ikea.
I can see why this thing is so popular...it's perfect!!

On the top - Napkin holder (also from Ikea) was intended to hold more palettes but then I thought this is the main one I want to display. ELF Ariel Beauty Book (Available now at Walgreens!), The pink box is a Prada Candy roller ball perfume, mini cake stand candle hold (from Bath & Body Works) hold my mini Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet perfume as well as a pair of pearl earrings. And then there's the mirrored Hello Kitty brush holder from Sephora.

First drawer is lip products. This isn't set up the exact way I imagined but it'll do for now.

Face - foundation, concealer, prinmers, powder, and blushes. I also keep my beauty blender in there.

Eyes - Again not exactly how I wanted it to look. I wanted everything to laid out so I can clearly see what I have, but I'm weird and don't the drawers to get dirty....  I know.

Hair - Notthing exciting here. Hairs claw thingys, bobby pins, sock bun maker, hair ties. Brush and combs.

Makeup removers/skincare. Cotton rounds and 3 B&BW roller balls in the back. The qhite container holds Q-Tips but I need to restock.

Hot hair tools.

Makeup bags and the box from my Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette.

Nail polish!!! And nail tools. I LOVE this drawer.

And finally... my new vanity table. I love this so much!
Table is from Ikea and the mirror is from Lowe's.

This lamp stole my heart. The camera didn't capture it but the lamp shade has GLITTER!
It puts a smile on my face every time I look at it.
Lamp and lamp share are from Target.

Brush holders are Sonia Kashuk from Target. I got them on clearance so I don't think they sell them anymore. 2 kabuki brushes and my 5 drawer muji.

My 3 favorite palettes and my Sigma single shadow.

Chanel foundation, concealers, bronzer, powder, eye primer and face primer.

Blush

More eye stuff. Color Tattoos, mascara, eyeliners, and 2 Wet n Wild singles.
Oh and that Maybelline palette? I love it!

And finally more lip glosses and lip sticks.
And a lonely lip balm.

So that's it!  That's my new setup and organization and I couldn't be happier with it. I hope you enjoyed this post.

Until next time....

Remember Me?

..You may or may not remember me. It's been a long time since I've posted anything, and there have been LOTS of changes in my life. Where to begin... February..I got engaged! We have been together for 9 years now and we're finally going to get married! I am so excited, but also a bit overwhelmed with all the planning that goes into a wedding. Maybe we should just elope... but then I wouldn't get to wear the gorgeous dress that it currently in my closet. (I didn't waste anytime on that part)

Let's see what else has happened.... AH YES!! I had a baby!! Out little girl was born in March and we couldn't be happier parents. She is truly a blessing and we just love her to pieces! She is now 3 months and just the most perfect baby ever! She is starting to smile more and more everyday and making lots of cute little baby noises.

I've said this many times, but I really want to get this blog going again. I have a new makeup/vanity setup that I can't wait to share.I miss talking beauty and sharing what I'm loving. I also want to post about different things..not just makeup. I want to share my wedding planning experience, and things i'm learning as a new mom.

Until next time....

Another Update..

First of all I can not believe I haven't posted anything since July. There has been a lot going on in my life since then though. In my last update I mentioned a close friend of my families who wasn't doing so well. I'm sad to say later in July she passed away. July is the month where a lot of things started to go badly for my family. We lost her and my stepdad's health was also beginning to not be so great. He kept getting worse week after week and was constantly in and out of hospitals. He passed away in early November. I'm not going into any details about what happened but this was the hardest thing to go through.

On a happy note Adam and I found out in August that we are pregnant!! We just found out a month ago that we're going to be having a little girl, and we are thrilled!!

All of these things have kept me pretty busy. Between dealing with death in the family, trying to be there for my mom, and trying to get things ready for a baby there has been no time for anything else. I want to be able to say I'm going to blog more in the new year, but after having a baby I don't think I'll have time. But I'm not due until April so hopefully I can blog more in the first few months and try my hardest to continue after our little one arrives.

I hope you've all had a great 2013 and have an even better 2014! Happy New Year!

Where Have I Been?

Wow! What a last couple of months it's been. I'm not sure where I even begin. First of all I want to apologize for not posting anything in awhile. I really wanted to keep up on this blog and post regularly, but life happens. Unfortunately I don't really have anything good to post about that's been going on in my life.

Let's start with the least upsetting thing. My computer decided about a month ago that it's had enough...and it was time to stop working. I was having some problems with it for a couple weeks, but didn't think it was anything to serious since I was still able to get it to work after messing with it for a few minutes, but one day when I went to turn it on...there was nothing. I messed with for about an hour before I finally gave up. A couple days later I decided to take it in to get checked out, and find out what was wrong. The guy basically told me it would be better for me to just buy a new computer, because the costs to fix mine just wasn't worth it. This upset me...as I am VERY poor right now haha. So I went a couple days with no computer.. AHHH!! After those horrible couple of days my dad offered to lend me his until I'm able to buy a new one. So that's what I've been doing the last couple weeks. Hopefully I can gather up some money to buy a new one soon!!

Now onto more serious sad things. A couple of months ago my boyfriends dad passed away. This is the biggest reason for me being away. He was pretty close to his dad, and obviously he's been taking this pretty hard. It was something that was expected, but at the same time not expected. It was and still is a very sad time for him. I've tried being there for him the best way I know, but it still doesn't feel like I'm doing enough for him. What do you say to someone who has lost a parent? I don't think there are any words that he hasn't heard already or would take his pain away. For the last month him and his sister have been cleaning out his dads place and I've been helping also. This process is taking longer than anyone expected it would.

There is also a family friend who is in her late 80's. She is absolutely one of the sweetest people you could ever meet and have the pleasure of knowing. We've all known for a couple months that her health wasn't the best. She went from living alone to going to a nursing home. Things have seemed alright for the last month..considering her health. This past Saturday she had a pretty high fever and they thought she wouldn't make it through the weekend. Luckily they got the fever to go down and she is still here with us. They informed everyone, though, that she probably only has another week or two to live. This, of course, has been an extremely hard thing to take. She is in good spirits though and she knows it's almost her time..and she's okay with it. Even though they have prepared all of us that her end is coming soon I know that won't make the day any easier. It's going to be an extremely sad day...and I'm not ready for it at all.

Finally...my job. I more or less lost it. They feel I have too much going on in my personal life right now and it's interfering with work. They're right. I do have a lot going on. Not just the things I talked about here, but there are other issues as well. This has been an insanely bad year.

I hope you all are having a great summer and I hope to be back to posting regularly soon!!!

xoxo

Maybelline Color Tattoos: Icy Mint & Lavish Lavender

Hey everyone! So for awhile now people have been talking about the limited edition Maybelline Color Tattoos released with the Summer collection. I finally spotted a few at my local Walgreens. I also went to 2 different Walgreens and a CVS to track down the very popular Seashore Frost. I had no luck finding it. All the stores I went too had every color except for that one.So I did pick up 2 that I was really wanting and thought I would share my first impression on them.

The first swatch is Icy Mint. I can not begin to tell you how excited I was that there was a mint color tattoo being released. I had to have it. I was excited to find it, and excited to bust it open and swatch it. I was so disappointed with this one. I ran my finger over the color many times and still got nothing. HUGE disappointment. This one went back to Walgreens.
Next up is Lavish Lavender. Another one I was pretty excited about. This one swatches a bit better than Icy Mint, but still wasn't what I expected/hoped it would be. These are all duo chrome colors..so maybe that's why I wasn't feeling this one. In certain light this is really pretty color, but in other light it's..not so pretty. This one...also went back to Walgreens.

So there you have it. Now maybe I didn't give these colors a fair chance being that I didn't apply them to my eyes. Just the swatching was enough for me. These are definitely the worst color tattoos I have tried. I have 4 other colors from the permanent line that I just love. These are not good. In my opinion you should just pass on these and hope the next collection is better.

Have you tried any of the Summer Collection Color Tattoos? What are your favorite colors? Thoughts?

I hope you enjoyed this post, and if you have tried ant of these LE colors I hope you had better luck than I did with them.

April Favorites

We've come to the end of another month. Which means time for favorites!! I don't have as many things to talk about as I thought I would, but I hope you enjoy!

First up is Pure Seduction Fragrance Mist from Victoria's Secret.
This as been the only scent I've worn since the day I bought it earlier in the month.
It smells delicious! Like a fruity drink.
Perfect for Spring & Summer.

 Rimmel BB Cream.
I haven't had the best luck with Rimmel products in the past,
but this stuff is amazing!
I love the coverage and honestly in my opinion...
it's better than my Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation.
I said it. This $6 BB cream is way more worth checking out
than the over priced $50 foundation.

Wet 'N' Wild Petal Pusher eyeshadow palette.
I have been using this thing like crazy!
I'm finally starting to branch out to colors other than my typical browns.
I am loving purple eyeshadow more than I ever thought I would.
The pigmentation is amazing and the staying power is also amazing.
Best 5 bucks I've spent all month!

Essie nail polish in Bikini So Teeny.
I am obsessed with this color!
I heard a lot of girls talk about it last year but I never got it.
So this year when I saw it I had to try it.
The first time painting it on my nails..
I was in love.

 L'Oreal Pistachio Dream.
This nail polish is gorgeous!
If you know anything about then you know I love the color mint.
This color is part of a limited edition collection
So I suggest running to the nearest drugstore and picking up a bottle.

 Milani baked blush in Luminoso.
I'm almost completely positive I mentioned this as a favorite last month as well.
So the fact that it's a favorite for the second month...it must be good.
It's basically the only blush I've worn the last couple of months.

Maybelline Color Whisper in Coral Ambition.
Another color I am obsessed with..coral.
This stuff if the perfect coral shade for someone like me who is trying to expand
her lip color selection. I love the color and the way this feels on my lips.
Super easy to apply. Making it the perfect lip product to keep in your purse this summer.

There you have it! My favorites for the month os April. I am so excited that Spring has finally decided to show up! It seems like Winter drug on and on. I hope you all are having a wonderful Spring so far, and of course, that you had a great April and an even better May!
